如何用英语表示“高等教育”
汉语说“高等教育”“高等数学”“高等动物”等，说成英语是high education (mathematics, animals)还是higher education (mathematics, animals)？许多同学可能认为是前者，因为汉语意思中并没有比较意味，所以要用原级。恰恰相反，在这类结构中，英语习惯上也要用比较级。如以下例句均摘自权威词典：
Cuts in public spending mean that fewer people can go on to higher education. 公共经费的减少将意味着有更多的人不能接受高等教育。
